1. What this policy covers
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on throw-blankets.com, what each category does, and how you can control them.
Read it alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with the information we collect.
2. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. It lets the site remember things about your visit, such as what is in your cart or whether you are signed in.
We also use technologies that work like cookies, including local storage and small tracking pixels inside emails. Everything in this policy applies to those too.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies make the store work. They keep your cart between pages, secure your checkout session, keep you signed in to your account, remember the cookie choice you made, and protect against fraudulent orders.
They are set as soon as you arrive, and we do not ask for consent, because the site cannot function without them. Blocking them in your browser will stop the cart and checkout from working.
4. Analytics cookies
These cookies tell us how many people visit the store, which pages they look at, how long they stay, and where they came from. We use that to fix what is not working and to decide what to build next.
They do not tell us your name or your address. They are set only after you accept them.
5. Advertising cookies
These cookies let us measure whether our advertising works, by recording that a visit or a purchase followed an ad. Some also let us show our designs again to people who have already visited the store.
The companies that set them may combine what they learn here with what they learn on other websites. They are set only after you accept them.
6. How we ask for your consent
If you visit us from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a banner appears the first time you arrive. Nothing except strictly necessary cookies is set until you make a choice. You can accept everything, refuse everything, or choose category by category.
If you visit us from anywhere else, we set analytics and advertising cookies without asking first, as local law allows. You can still turn them off using the controls in section 7.
We ask again at least every six months, and any time we add a category of cookie that was not covered by your last choice.
7. How to change your mind
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in our footer.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this, usually under Privacy or Security.
If your browser or an extension sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sharing of personal information for advertising purposes. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" signals, because no common standard for those signals has been adopted.
8. How long cookie data lasts
No cookie we set for analytics or advertising lasts longer than thirteen months, and the data collected through it is kept for no more than twenty-five months, in line with the recommendation of the French data protection authority.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when we add or remove a tool from the store. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and if the change adds a new category of cookie we will ask for your consent again.
